Maria "Maria Tuni" Santos, passed away peacefully on April 23rd, 2025. Born in Brava, Cape Verde, she was the cherished daughter of the late Patrocinia DosSantos and Joao Antonio Pires.

Maria was a woman of unwavering faith, strength, and boundless love. She found joy in prayer and welcomed all who visited her with warmth and spiritual guidance. Her resilience, beauty, and kindness were evident in every aspect of her life, shaping the legacy she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Jaqueline Santos, and her son, Manuel “Manu” Santos, who is lovingly remembered by his wife, Hildy Santos and her grandsons Mathew Reverdes and Steven DaLomba.

Maria is survived by her six devoted children: Jose Maria DosSantos of France; John “Djandjan” Santos and his wife Anabela of Florida; Jorge DosSantos and his wife Maria in France; Emilio Santos and his wife Delphine in France; Cecilia Santos of Florida; and Tony Santos and his wife Julie of Rhode Island.

She also leaves behind her siblings, Orlando Santos, Olga Pascoal, Fernanda Tavares and a large and loving family, including 24 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, who will continue to carry her love and wisdom in their hearts.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, April 26th, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Mount Hope Community Baptist Church, 734 Hope Street, Providence. A celebration of life service will follow, along with a repass in her honor.
