In Loving Memory of Clara Correia

June 3, 1933 – June 5, 2025

With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Clara Correia on June 5, 2025. Born on the island of Brava, Cape Verde, on June 3, 1933, Clara was the daughter of the late Julio Gomes and Olivia Correia—the beginning of a legacy built on love, strength, and a lifelong dedication to helping others.

Clara was more than a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother—she was a true giver of life. As the midwife in her village, she helped bring countless babies into the world, supporting families during their most sacred moments. She was lovingly known by many as “Madrinha”—a godmother in both name and spirit—whose gentle hands and kind heart touched generations.

In 2019, Clara moved to the United States to be near her children, carrying with her the quiet wisdom, joyful laughter, and deep love that had always defined her. Surrounded by family, she spent her final years wrapped in the same love she had so freely given all her life.

Clara is survived by her loving children: Maria Seidi Ba, Olivia Da Costa, Joana Da Silva, Antonio Silva, Benvinda Silva, and Ana Maria Silva. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and her dear siblings: Jose Correia, Aurora Edward, Julia Correia, and Ida Correia. Clara leaves behind many nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her generous spirit and unwavering love. She is reunited in peace with her beloved son, Francisco De Barros.

To know Clara was to know kindness. She was a quiet light in the world—a steady, comforting presence whose love had no limits. Her strength, humility, and grace will live on through the many lives she touched.

We will miss her stories, her smile, her warm embrace—but most of all, we will miss the way she loved us so fully.

May your soul rest in eternal peace.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 8:30am-10:15am in the Keefe Funeral Home, Five Higginson Ave. Lincoln. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 291 High St. Pawtucket at 11am. Burial will be held in Mount St. Mary’s Cemetery, 661 Prospect St. Pawtucket, RI 02860.
