Ashtina Yvette Lassiter "Tina", 62, of Providence, Rhode Island passed peacefully on Wednesday, June 04, 2025, at Hope Hospice & Palliative Care of RI surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on December 14, 1962. Tina was the daughter of the late Caroline Louise Lassiter of Providence RI and James Chavis of Raleigh North Carolina.

She was a graduate of Mount Pleasant High Schools Class of 1980. She worked as a Teachers Aid with the Providence School Department for over fifteen plus years until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends playing cards, Backgammon and challenging people in a good game of Chess.

Tina was a loving and devoted Mother, Nana, Sister, Aunt and Friend to many. With a rare giving and compassionate soul. She brought love, laughter and light to anyone having the joy of knowing her. Spending time and making memories with her Baby boy Jayree and Boo-Bear Mj and family is what she cherished most. Her everlasting touch she left on this world will forever be missed and irreplaceable.

Tina is survived by her eldest daughter Latoyia Lassiter and her baby girl, Linda Lassiter. She was the grandmother of Danny Jayree Jerez and Michael Jermaine (boo bear) Williams Jr. Besides her children, she is survived by her lifelong friend, Brian Harris. Tina is survived by her Siblings, Larry Lassiter, Antoinette Summerville, Willie Allen III and Beverly Johnson all of Providence, Rhode Island. Patricia Coleman of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Willard (lee) Allen of Norfolk Virginia. Her Aunt Marthann Davis of Norfolk Virgina as well as a host of Nieces and Nephews and Cousins.

Tina was also a Stepmother of Jackson (William) McDonald and Brianna McDonald.

She was preceded in death by her brothers the Late Harold Lassiter of North Carolina and J.Van Allen of Providence RI. And her sister Joycelyn (Lassiter) Perry of Newport Rhode Island.

Tina was loved dearly by her family and many friends. She will be forever remembered for her loving soul. She will be missed by all that loved and knew her.

Visitation will be held at Keefe Funeral Home, 5 Higginson Avenue, Lincoln, Rhode Island on Tuesday, June 10 2025, from 10am-11am with a funeral home service starting right at 11am. Burial will follow in North Burial Ground Cemetery, Providence. A repass will follow at 2:00pm at Fire Fighters, 92 Printery Street, Providence, Rhode Island.
